This week’s paintings are of two types of birds we find locally; the Stone Curlew sometimes known as a ‘thick-knee’ and the Masked Lapwing or Plover. You can hear the Curlew wailing at night….first time I heard it I thought it was a child screaming . The Lapwings lay their eggs on the ground and will swoop you to protect their eggs or young. There are a few in the city swooping people at the moment.
